Alyssa became interested in acupuncture and Chinese medicine when she sought out holistic treatments for her severe eczema beginning at 8 years old. After over a decade of cortisone use, hundreds of dollars of skin care products, unhelpful restricted eating, depression, anxiety and shamefully hiding her skin, she knew that exploring a different kind of medicine would give answers. She first explored yoga and became a certified yoga teacher and learned Reiki which both opened many doors to the wholeness of Eastern medicine.
At Pacific Rim college, she pursued a diploma in acupuncture and its modalities and further studied Chinese herbs completing a Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine in April 2018.

Alyssa is delightfully free of the constant eczema flares and only suffers at times when she decides moderation is not key and the craving is worth it.
